Charlie has spent the last week in his new classroom of year 1. He has found it tough going and is pretty stressed by it. He has been moved into a new class of children and is away from his current friends. He always finds change hard, as do I, so I know how he is feeling. I just want to scoop him up and protect him from these ‘real world’ problems.
He went back into his old classroom today for the last 2 days of term and even that was upsetting for him as all the children coming into reception in Sept have their names on the pegs and the drawers. I don’t understand why they have done this BEFORE the end of term. Even I feel a jolt in my heart when I see it. All of the artwork has gone from the walls, all the routine is out of the window as they just play and enjoy the last few days in Reception.
1 day left.
Stacy and I went to an indian wedding on Saturday night. We took Cleo with us as I am still breastfeeding, but also because my Mum did not fancy having her over night. She was good as gold and everyone loved her! We got sat next to an amazing couple who we had a lot in common with and the night was extremely enjoyable!
We also had a family get together on the Sunday in a beautiful garden.
I took today off work to attend Rosa’s end of year party at playgroup. I sold tea-towels and raffle tickets and we have presents to one of the workers who has been there for 20 years. It was good fun and much MUCH better than being at work!
Stacy got a new job! She starts straight after her mat leave. It’s a new team starting up and after 6 months if she doesn’t like it, she can return back to her old job or take on a new contract in the new one. She is excited to try something new and fresh and there is a pay rise in it too which is always nice 🙂
Ahh this post is so bitty, sorry, and pretty boring as well. I really should try and blog about stuff a bit deeper sometime when I find the time!
