>What a stressful day it was for me!!
First off we panicked because one of the organisers had decided to invite the whole city and had been giving out flyers in Sainsbury’s and McDonalds. We had no idea how many people were going to turn up and it seriously worried us. The other three of us were so mad with him, I found it difficult to actually look him in the eye without poking my finger into it!
I was in the street decorating, putting up bunting in quite strong winds and battling with the others on wanting to tether it to stop people being blinded by flying bunting pointy triangles! I just did it in the end as no one would listen to me. I rushed home to watch the ceremony and had missed the beginning which I was really upset by.
She was beautiful, serene and it was just gorgeous beyond words…..
Then I rushed back to the street to finish getting everything ready. We had several crises when the bouncy castle turned out to be a huge slide, the band went home as they couldn’t get their equipment to work, the cupcake judges refused to actually try the cupcakes and just wanted to judge on appearance (which upset the entrants)
Anyway *sigh*… it actually went really well. Not as well as it should…but not as bad it could.
I painted at least 30 faces. There were some really strange requests, and I think I managed to pull off most of them, penguin was the hardest….just what does a penguin look like without having a picture in front of you?!? lol
Stacy manned the games, beanbag toss, and lollypops and guess the name etc… She did it all on her own bless her and was rushed off her feet the whole time.
I was interviewed by the local TV, but don’t think I actually made it onto the program.
We made a LOT of money. There were hundreds of people there and they were all spending lots on food and games (and beer!) We are going to give it all to the local school.
We crowned a prince and princess which was cute. A lot of the children had come dressed as royalty. There was a great atmosphere.
I was very glad when it ended, and we cleared up the street and went home. Phew!!!

My entries to the cupcake comp (I told the judges not to let me win)

>Easter

>I have just had the best Easter of my life. Last year was pretty good, but I was very pregnant, and wanting my baby to arrive. I wished those last few weeks of my pregnancy away, when I should have been savouring them.
We spent the weekend at my Mum’s house. She had invited all of my extended family from my Dad’s side, including my Grandad. He has been a lot better since Charlie was born, and we did have a brief, strained conversation. He gave both me and Charlie Easter eggs. We had a massive party on the Saturday, where there was far too much food (as always). The weather was just amazing, even good enough for us to get the paddling pool out!

The table tennis table made an appearance

As did my carrot cake cupcakes 🙂

On Sunday morning, I was given the task of hiding the eggs for the children to hunt. I really enjoyed finding nooks and crannies for them to peek into and find an egg! Charlie enjoyed the walk around the garden, and we allowed him a couple of little eggs.
From there we all headed to the forest and we picniced under the trees. The children played boule and headed off to the playground which the adults sat and chatted and ate ice-creams.

We finished off the day with an offroad segway experience. It was sooooo good! I was given the responsibility of my 12 year old cousin and therefore had to keep up with him as he twisted and turned through the trees down the narrow tracks. It really made me push myself, but I was so glad of it because I had such a super time! Everyone did really.
On Monday I was sad to say goodbye to everyone, but Mum took us into town and we did a spot of shopping before we headed off too.
A really wonderful Easter.
Tomorrow is the royal wedding. The street party I have organised is all ready to go. I spent last night making bunting, beanbags, signs, costumes, cakes….the list goes on! Fingers crossed for good weather!

>Sorry cat

>Firstly let me start this story with a bit of info…My cat Poppy is a free spirit and spends a lot of time outdoors, or asleep on a bed somewhere. She does love fuss, but only when we asks for it, therefore it is not unusual to not see her for quite a while. With that being said, let me start my story,
My sister Katie is staying with us this weekend. I had my first day at work yesterday and she looked after Charlie for us. Seeing as she was in the house, I decided to close my bedroom door last night. Pretty much as soon as I had gone to sleep I heard scratching at the door, but didn’t want to let the cat in, as she wouldn’t be able to leave when she needed the toilet.
I woke up at 1.00am and she was still scratching at the door. I was cross she had woken me up, but did not give in to letting her in.
She woke me up again at 2.00am and this time I decided to get up and tell her off. So I opened the bedroom door and….no cat. I thought oh no she is trapped in the en suite! Opened the en suite….no cat. Oh god she is trapped in the wardrobe! I opened the wardrobe door and out fell a very unhappy cat. She must have been trapped in there since 5.30am when Stacy left for work!! I gave her plenty of fuss, but really just wanted to go back to sleep. She was purring very very loudly (I guess cos she was still stressed) and it was like having a washing machine lying on my pillow with me. Poor Poppy.
This happened a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot to mention it. Charlie got his first pair of shoes! They are so so cute…and expensive!!!

We went with his little friend, who also got a pair, the same but in pink! I was so jealous 😉

As I said before, my sister is staying with us this weekend. We went swimming this morning, Charlie loved it as usual and we worked on him jumping in from the side. He is so brave. Katie was swimming him in little circles and when she stopped he signed ‘more’ and so we did it some more! This is the first time he has used the sign on his own with no prompting. I made a clever lad.

His converse trainers that auntie Karen bought him for Xmas are finally fitting, I don’t think you can get much cuter than mini converse trainers!

Stacy and I have bought Charlie a ball pool. It is a birthday present, but we want him to get as much use out of it as possible during the spring/summer and so have given it to him now. He wasn’t sure at first, but loves it now!
Photobucket
And on a final note, have a great Easter! With lots of love from Charlie XXxx

>When my family lived in Hong Kong, we made friends with people all over the world. Most people have since moved back to their home countries. A good friend from Oz is having an amazing holiday through England, Austria, Italy and back through France. She found a day out of her busy schedule to get the train up from London and visit us.

She was very excited to meet Charlie, she has been sending him books since he was born. We took her to Bury and showed her the old monastery, destroyed by King Henry 8th and the cathedral built in the 10th century. She loved all the old Tudor buildings and kept wanting to touch them all! We had a wonderful day and we bought Charlie a wooden Easter egg to remember the occasion 🙂

Right when they were leaving, I ran through the hallway to wave goodbye. I whacked my hand on the corner of the table and I had to lie down the pain was so intense and I thought I was about to faint. There was blood and it is so swollen and bruised. I suspect I have chipped a bit of bone off inside there or something. Typing this now is very painful. I can be very clumsy at times.
I ovulated 3 days ago, so a couple of weeks till my period, then a couple of weeks till the next ovulation, then we start trying again, woohoo!
