>Standing unaided

>My little boy is getting so grown up! The first time he stood unaided it was because I had given him a shaker to hold and as he was distracted, he didn’t even realise he was doing it. A good 30 seconds later he realised and sat down! I was crying my eyes out, it was so emotional for me.

>The weather at the weekend was glorious. It was around 17 degrees and the sky was perfectly blue with no blemishes at all 🙂
We played in the garden, and Charlie enjoyed his new swing that Dad and I had made him on Friday.

(I had just wiped yoghurt off his nose!)
I had to leave them to attend an extra chorus rehearsal, and I just wanted to stay and play in the sun! It lifted my mood so much, having the sunlight poor in through the windows of the church hall whilst listening to the teacher.

On Sunday we went to another old house and soaked up some history as well as a walk through the gardens. I had the leave them again on Sunday to attend a meeting.
4 of us on our estate have got together to organise a street party for the royal wedding on the 29th April. What started out as a small event has become massive. We are catering for 600 people, and have bouncy castles, trampolines, competitions, games, stalls, 2 live bands, beer tent, raffles etc… it’s going to be amazing. We are meeting once a week at the moment and it is taking up a lot of my free time. There is so much paperwork to do, as I have taken on most of the artistic crafty aspects of it also. I have metres and metres of bunting to make, sashes, logos, crowns, posters, flyers, letterheads, games. I am enjoying it though!
Charlie and I went round to a friends house to play with Ted, his little friend. She snapped this shot of them sitting on the floor together. Ted and Charlie were born on the same day! You wouldn’t have thought it if I hadn’t just told you!

One great thing about this size difference is the huge bag of clothes she gave me as we were leaving! He grew so quickly he had hardly worn any of it. She has great taste in clothes and I loved them all 🙂

>Ickworth

>We met with my Mum and brother on Saturday and went to Ickworth house. It was such a sunny spring like day. The daffodils are out, the snowdrops are out and there is a hint of bluebells about to pop through!

Mum treated us to a gorgeous lunch in the restaurant and we had a ‘day off’ the diet and indulged in some cake for desert as well 😀
We took a long walk around the gardens, which included a trail of play equipment. I attempted things I haven’t done since my early teens and felt quite upset by the fact that I couldn’t do them. I couldn’t hold my own weight on the monkey bars for long and couldn’t move across them, I couldn’t climb a pole, and I didn’t have the courage to attempt a leap frog of a tall pole 😦 Perhaps when I have shifted a bit more of this weight I will be in a better position to attempt them again.
I could walk along a trunk of wood though.

Charlie enjoyed being carried in the Moby wrap around the old house. He fell asleep in it, and passers by thought he looked adorable all curled up and being cuddled.

Sunday was spent erecting stair gates! One in front of the kitchen to stop monkey man getting at the cat food bowls and litter trays.
Today I held a four week old baby….I am so ready to do this again!

Our professional portrait arrived, I am thrilled to bits with it. It’s not a great image to show to as I took a picture of it behind a glass frame, but you get the idea.

Weight loss is going so so well. I got my club 10 award at slimming world last night (that means I have lost 10% of my body weight) and in total I have lost 22lbs *big grin* The more I can lose before becoming pregnant again the better.

>Crafty weekend

>Our friend Becca came to stay with us this weekend. She just adores the boy and lavished him with attention. We spent Saturday at the zoo, where we danced around like little children getting excited about the animals (especially the Meercats) and Charlie seemed to enjoy himself too!
Sunday was spent doing creative pursuits. Becca and I attempted to make some cake pops from a book I had been given for Xmas. They took a lot of efforts and time and ended up not looking the best, but I have some good ideas on how to improve them for next time (!)We made some Easter biscuits too.

While we were chatting and watching films, I was crocheting. I decided I did want to do a blanket, but not for anyone else, for us, a family, something that can be handed down. It has cost me a small fortune in the cost of the wool and is going to take hours and hours of work (the pattern in a complicated beautiful one). It is for my next baby 🙂
I have also got started on some bunting for Charlie’s first birthday. We hunted down some delicious fabrics and it is a work in progress as I have grand plans for the length of it.
Finally, I practised some of my facepainting skills. I have offered to paint the faces of children at the street party we are having to celebrate the royal wedding in April. Stacy was my reluctant model, and Becca got away with it by claiming she has ‘sensitive skin’ pah!!
